Description
White flowering variety Utricularia calycifida.
Distribution
Floristic provinces
Brazil North, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela
Habitat
Utricularia calycifida is a terrestrial, carnivorous vesicle plant found in moist, water-saturated terrain in the tropical rainforests of northern SouthAmerica. This species also grows well in some sheltered environments and does not need strong light.
Cultivation
Easily grow in a mixture of peat/coarse sand. In pots of 5-6 cm high, they stand quietly in 4 cm of water until I replenish it again.
Multiplication can be caused by cracks/splitting. In the case of the different variants (white-flowering and similar), this is necessary. In addition to cracks, you can also pollinate them by hand, nice to try.
Flowering Period
There is always something blooming, in the wild especially in the wet season.
